“The 'Bernardina' comes entirely from Alba, sorted from vineyards in the Monsordo Bernardina estate, just outside of the Barolo appellation. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tank and aged in oak for a year. The nose is deliciously elegant, with great integration of dried cherry, violet and rose, a whiff of cinnamon and a slightly balsamic depth. On the palate it is even fresher, with leaner pomegranate fruit allied to lifted, almost zesty acidity and light, dusty yet ripe tannins. A delicate Nebbiolo full of grace and as feminine as its name suggests.”
